About
Crying Clover Candles was borne out of experimentation with sculptural forms by two artists.
Every Crying Clover is a unique sculpture made by hand - no two are the same.
All Sales are Final, disclaimer & advisory
- All Sales are FINAL-Please choose carefully as to which candle you make yours. As we are a very small two person team, and each candle is unique, we are unable to accommodate returns. Thank you for understanding.
-
- Every candle is a unique sculpture and made by hand, thus any idiosyncrasies are inherent and part of the overall story of each candle.
-
- The candles may stain some surfaces. We advise to not store them on wood, and instead store them on a heat resistant & stable surface such as ceramic or designated candle holder.
-
- These candles are sculptures and are made from a combination of varying types of reclaimed wax. We think of the burning as a performance. If you choose to burn them please be advised that we can not guarantee a lengthy burn time.
-
- If you choose to burn them - Only do so on a non-flammable surface and trim wick down to 1/4". Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep a lit candle away from anything flammable. You can lightly melt the bottom of the candle to affix it to your non-flammable surface (ceramic, marble, stone, etc).
-
- We can not be held responsible for lost or damaged packages but we will do whatever we can to help rectify the issue.
Reclaimed Wax
Our candles are made from reclaimed wax mixed with a small amount of local beeswax. Because of the varied nature of the reclaimed wax, the wax may stain some surfaces.
Out of an abundance of caution, we advise not storing the candles on a wood surface.
Unscented
Our candles have a natural scent of beeswax and remnant scents of salvaged candles past - we do not add any scent.

Care
Do not leave candle in direct sunlight or in a room that gets hot.
Due to the reclaimed wax we use, and the inherent mixture of waxes, candles may stain some surfaces. Out of an abundance of caution, we recommend not storing them directly on wood, and instead storing them on a designated heat resistant, stable and non-porous surface.
Safety
Caution: Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage.
- Remove all packaging before burning. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings, other flammable materials & debris.
-
- Make sure candle is secured and level in a proper holder.
-
- Keep wick centered & trim wick to 1/4 inch each time candle is burned.
-
- Burn candle in a proper holder & only on stable heat resistant surfaces.
-
- Do not burn candles for more than 1 hour at a time.
-
- Keep out of draft and flame unobstructed at all times.
-
- Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains.
-
- Do not move candles while burning or if wax is hot.
-
- Keep out of reach of children & pets.
-

Bird Friendly Coffee
Smithsonian Certified Bird Friendly Coffee (SCBF) is also organic and fair trade. SCBF coffee is shade grown under a rainforest tree canopy, which supports biodiversity, soil health, climate resiliance and habitat for birds and other animals. (SCBF supports more than 4 times the amount of bird species. Traditionally grown coffee devastates rainforests and delicate ecosystems & requires pesticides which degrades soil health) Its a small shift that can have a big impact!

(PS Don't forget to plant NATIVE Milkweed (Narrow leaf or Kotolo for Los Angeles) for the Monarchs! It is critical to plant native milkweed because non-natives, like the popular tropical milkweed, do not go dormant in the winter like native milkweed's do, so monarch's, instead of migrating south as they are supposed to, will stay in the area and lay their eggs, and the temperatures are too cold for the caterpillars to survive. Native milkweeds are perfectly attuned to the migration pattern of the monarch. Monarchs need at least 4 or 5 plants grouped together in order to provide enough food for them. It will be worth it once you start to have Monarch visitors and see the lil bb caterpillars emerging.)
